"92 out of 107 tree species and 170 out of 242 shrubs in Azerbaijan can be found in the rich Karabakh forests," said Eldar Novruzov, Deputy Director for Scientific Affairs of the Institute of Botany of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), Doctor of Biological Sciences.
According to him, there are rare species of trees in the forests looted by Armenians.
Leading researcher of the Institute of Geography, Doctor of Philosophy in Geography Mirnuh Ismayilov noted that the enemy cut down and burned the Karabakh forests, destroyed flora and fauna, and Kalbajar and Zangilan districts suffered the most from this process.
