Azerbaijan facing disinformation campaign, says think tank head

A disinformation campaign is being waged against Azerbaijan, said Farid Shafiyev, Chairman of the Center of Analysis of International Relations (AIR Center), during the conference of think tanks from the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in Baku, Report informs.

Shafiyev noted that while such campaigns were previously focused on Armenia-Azerbaijan relations, they have now shifted toward developments in the Middle East:

"Given the geopolitical dynamics in the Middle East, preparations must be made to respond accordingly. These topics are now part of our broader discussions."

He also pointed out that the Organization of Turkic States itself is facing external pressure:

"Some geopolitical actors do not support the growth of the OTS. They are attempting to undermine the organization's agenda through certain diplomatic engagements."
