Strengthening ties between Azerbaijan, Ireland in diaspora sphere discussed

Fuad Muradov, chairman of the State Committee for Work with the Diaspora in Azerbaijan, has held a series of meetings with officials during his visit to Ireland, Report informs referring to the State Committee.
At the meeting with Karl Gardner, Director of the Irish foreign office's department for work with Irish citizens abroad, the history of friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries was discussed, with particular attention paid to the role of the diaspora in the further development of these ties.
The chairman of the State Committee emphasized that the diaspora policy implemented under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, along with strengthening the solidarity of Azerbaijanis worldwide, is making an invaluable contribution to enhancing the international standing of modern Azerbaijan.
Gardner emphasized the importance of studying the experience of Azerbaijani Houses Abroad and the Sunday Azerbaijani schools operating within them.
A meeting was then held with a delegation led by Tony McCormack, head of the Irish-Azerbaijani Interparliamentary Friendship Group, during which they discussed the potential for joint projects in the diaspora sector and the importance of strengthening strategic cooperation.
At the meeting, it was noted that the activities of the Azerbaijani community in Ireland and the strong ties established with the Irish, who are friendly to our country, are a constant focus.
McCormack, in turn, noted that bilateral meetings will provide impetus for the further expansion of cooperation and that the diaspora plays a significant role in this process.
