Virtual lotteries to be held in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan introduces the concept of ‘virtual lottery’ into the Law on Lotteries, Report informs referring to the bill on amendments to the law.

According to the document, a virtual lottery is a form of lottery that is simulated or created using computer algorithms based on real sports and other competitions that have taken place in the past, and/or competitions that are accompanied by the provision of winnings to holders of winning lottery tickets and/or create opportunities for rates.

In addition, the bill includes the concept of ‘virtual environment.’ This includes telecommunication networks, information systems and platforms created by the organizer for holding lotteries.
