US has invested $18.9B in Azerbaijan since 1995, minister says

Between 1995 and the end of March 2025, the United States invested a total of $18.9 billion in Azerbaijan, including $17.4 billion in the oil and gas sector and $1.5 billion in the non-oil sector, Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov said during a special Cabinet meeting dedicated to President Ilham Aliyev’s recent visit to Washington, Report informs.

He also noted that during this period, the US ranked 5th among Azerbaijan’s foreign trade partners, 4th in imports, and 24th in exports.

The minister added that the legal and contractual foundation of Azerbaijan-US economic relations is based on 87 signed agreements.

“In 2007, the Azerbaijan-US Economic Partnership Commission was established as an institutional mechanism for cooperation. The most recent (4th) session of the Commission was held in Baku on May 17, 2019,” he said.
