Belarus is seeking broader industrial cooperation with Azerbaijan, Belarus Deputy Prime Minister Natalia Petkevich said at a Belarus–Azerbaijan business forum.
According to Report's correspondent in Minsk, she noted that the two countries' economies are complementary.
"We supply a range of products that Azerbaijan needs, including food products, timber, machinery, chemical industry goods, and pharmaceuticals. On the other hand, we receive goods from our partners in Azerbaijan, including fruits, nuts, wine, cognac, as well as polymer raw materials and other products," Petkevich said.
She added that the two countries already have joint production in tractor assembly and that the product range will be expanded further.
"We are counting on broader industrial cooperation. Today we have major projects in Karabakh. We are building and designing an agro-town with full infrastructure and an agricultural enterprise, which is a great honor for us," she said, adding that Belarus is ready to contribute to new production projects involving Belarusian companies in Azerbaijan.
