Jalal Gasimov: Main task of leaders - to create environment where people are not afraid to try new things

Azerbaijan has a wealth of talented people, PASHA Holding CEO Jalal Gasimov said during the Fifth INMerge Innovation Summit, organized by PASHA Holding, Report informs.

"We have a lot of talent working for us. But the fact is that talent itself is just potential talent. If it doesn't translate into real action, it will never create a tangible product or service that others can use and make money from. Therefore, in this business, it's not just the presence of talent or potential that matters, but also how well that talent or potential can be realized and utilized. And, of course, this depends on managers and leaders-creating an environment where people can try and experiment. After all, we all have potential, but to realize it, we need to act: take risks, try new things," said Gasimov.

The holding's CEO noted that if a person is punished for their first mistake, if leaders focus on their mistakes and failures rather than successes, they will stop trying again and stop taking risks.

"How then can they realize their potential? After all, any company or country is the sum of the people who work in it, or the sum of its population. And the more of us who can realize our potential within the company, the better the end result will be. Ultimately, it is the leaders who are rewarded for the company's results. We need to create opportunities and a culture within the company where people are not afraid to realize their potential. And by doing this, we achieve good results, which benefit both the company and its leaders," Gasimov added.
