GS1 Azerbaijan database integrated into Azexport portal

Automated data exchange has been established between the Azexport portal, operated by the Center for Analysis and Communication of Economic Reforms, and GS1 Azerbaijan, Report informs, citing the center.

Technical work has begun to enable faster and more convenient transfer of local companies" data from the GS1 Azerbaijan database to Azexport. This initiative is based on a Memorandum of Understanding signed between the portal and GS1 Azerbaijan.

Aykhan Gadashov, the head of Azexport, stated that the integration offers new opportunities not only for producers but also for consumers. Through the portal"s GTIN (Global Trade Item Number) Search section, users can now enter codes starting with '476' to access detailed product information. This includes the product name, image, unit of measurement, quantity, packaging type, classification, manufacturer name, and taxpayer identification number (TIN).

Gadashov added that in the next phase, the GS1 Azerbaijan recognition mark will be displayed on product information panels-enhancing the security and credibility of digital data while expanding the portal's database.
