Georgia's trade turnover with Azerbaijan down by 23%

In January of this year, the value of the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Georgia decreased by 22.9% compared to the same period last year and amounted to $92.994 million, Report informs, citing the National Statistical Office of Georgia.
This made up 6.9% of the monthly trade turnover of the neighboring country.
During the reporting period, the value of products exported by Georgia to Azerbaijan decreased by 21.2% to $40.925 million (12.1% of total exports), and the value of products imported by Georgia from Azerbaijan declined by 24.3% to $52.069 million (5.2% of total imports).
In January, the value of Georgia's total trade turnover decreased by 14.8% year-on-year to $1,341,327,000. In particular, the value of exports decreased by 26.2% to $338.616 million and imports by 10.1% to $1,002,712,000.
As a result, a negative balance of $664.096 million was created in Georgia's foreign trade, which is 1.2% more than the previous year.
