Azerbaijan spends over $1M on cheese imports from Ukraine

In 2021, Azerbaijan imported $1.1 million worth of cheese from Ukraine, Report informs, citing the Ukrainian Agronews portal.
In total, Ukraine exported 6,900 tons of cheese in 2021, 8.5% more than in 2020.
Last year, Ukraine earned $26.7 million from cheese exports, 9.1% more than in 2020.
The main buyers of Ukrainian cheese were Kazakhstan and Moldova. In 2021, these two countries imported cheese from Ukraine for $12.6 million and $9.4 million, respectively. Azerbaijan was third on the list of primary importers.
At the same time, in 2021, Ukraine imported 55,200 tons of cheese, up 18% from a year earlier.
Last year, Ukraine spent $260.3 million on cheese imports, 23.7% higher than in 2020. Ukraine mainly imported cheeses from Poland, Germany and the Netherlands. Thus, in 2021, Ukraine imported cheese for $100.3 million from Poland, for $52.7 million from Germany and for $27 million from the Netherlands.
