Azerbaijan, Slovakia sign MoU on standards, metrology

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the State Agency for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the President of Azerbaijan and the Slovak Office of Standards, Metrology and Testing in the fields of standardization, legislative and scientific metrology, technical regulation, conformity assessment, and accreditation of conformity assessment bodies.

According to Report, the state agency announced the signing.

The purpose of the memorandum is to develop institutional cooperation between the parties in the field of quality infrastructure, expand the exchange of international experience and information, and define future joint areas of activity.

The document was signed by Elnur Baghirov, Chairman of the State Agency, and Elchin Gasimov, Slovakia's Ambassador to Azerbaijan.

Under the memorandum, the parties will exchange information in the fields of technical regulation, standardization, and metrology, and organize joint seminars, conferences, scientific-technical projects, and training programs to enhance the professional knowledge and skills of specialists.

The agreement also includes promoting the participation of accredited and candidate laboratories in proficiency testing programs and international inter-laboratory comparisons to develop calibration and measurement capabilities in metrology, facilitating the mutual recognition of test results by accredited conformity assessment bodies, and expanding cooperation within international and regional organizations.
