Azerbaijan sharply increases import of meat

Baku. 11 May. REPORT.AZ/ Azerbaijan imported food products worth $421.85 mln in January-April, 2017.
Report informs referring to State Customs Committee, there is 3.17% growth in import of food products.
In reporting period, import of meat increased by 2.6 times to $21.177 mln, dairy products – by 98% to $ 4.198 mln, butter and other milk-based oils – by 3% to $20.269 mln, tea – by 23% to $14.003 mln, sugar – by 11% to $48.101 mln.
During this period, import of fruits and vegetables reduced. Thus, import of fruits and vegetables decreased in annual comparison by 3% to $56.48 mln, import of crops dropped by 48% to $48.462 mln.
Notably, food products in overall imports jumped from 15.42% to 19.07% annually.
