Azerbaijan records 3-fold drop in foreign trade surplus

Azerbaijan conducted trade transactions with other countries worth $24.4 billion in the first half of 2025, marking a 12.1% increase year-on-year, Report informs, referring to the country’s State Customs Committee.
During six months, exports accounted for $12.878 billion of foreign trade turnover, and imports accounted for $11.522 billion. In this period, exports grew by 0.2%, while imports rose by 29.9%.
Consequently, there was a surplus of more than $1.356 billion in Azerbaijan’s foreign trade turnover for the first half of 2025, representing a 3-fold drop year-on-year.
