Azerbaijani and German companies have reached an agreement to promote mutual cooperation, implement joint investment projects, and exchange expertise in the development of the digital economy, as well as expand collaboration in agriculture, transport-logistics, and other areas.
According to Report, the discussions took place during the 10th meeting of the Azerbaijan-Germany High-Level Working Group on Trade and Investment.
The Azerbaijani delegation was led by Deputy Minister of Economy Samad Bashirli, while the German side was headed by Ralf Bohme, Director of External Economic Policy at Germany's Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.
Both sides emphasized the ongoing success of bilateral economic cooperation. It was noted that Germany is among the top 10 foreign investors in Azerbaijan's non-oil and gas sectors. Currently, around 200 German companies operate in Azerbaijan in fields such as industry, transport, construction, trade, agriculture, and services.
The meeting also explored the participation of German companies in Azerbaijan's industrial parks and the Alat Free Economic Zone, as well as opportunities for enhancing transport cooperation.
Presentations were delivered on Azerbaijan's current economic landscape, ongoing reforms, efforts to maintain macroeconomic stability, and the country's growing role in transit and logistics along the Middle Corridor.
It was highlighted that Azerbaijan strongly supports foreign-invested enterprises and is actively working on localizing production. Opportunities for cooperation in energy, agriculture, food security, transportation, digital development, tourism, education, healthcare, and other sectors were also discussed.
