Azerbaijan has achieved positive results in the use of drones in agriculture, Tariyel Panahov, deputy director of the Agrarian Innovation Center under the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA), told Report.
"Drones are used in the agricultural field during crop protection, disease and pest control, agro-technical regulations, implementation of agrotechnical rules, sampling of land plots, and other operations. Over the past year or two, drones have become more widely used in Azerbaijan," he noted.
According to Panahov, drones are widely applied in the United States, China, Turkey, and other countries, and Azerbaijan also will use more extensively in the near future.
He added that the Ministry of Agriculture intends to use drones in the implementation of the "Smart Village" project in Zangilan:
"Drones have already been provided to research institutes operating under the Ministry and will be utilized following their profiles."
Panahov stressed that the Ministry of Agriculture is taking measures to create an artificial intelligence system in the agricultural sector. Thus, drones in the artificial intelligence system have expanded.
