Azerbaijan aims to boost productivity and export potential in agriculture

A new stage in Azerbaijan's agricultural sector is focused on high productivity and export growth, said Natig Amirov, Assistant to the President, Head of the Department of Economic Policy and Industrial Issues of the Presidential Administration, according to Report's correspondent in Saatli.
Speaking during a regional meeting on the Mil-Mughan Economic Zone within the framework of the State Program for the Development of Agricultural, Fisheries, and Aquaculture Production and Processing in Azerbaijan for 2026–2030, he noted that providing direct subsidies to agricultural producers is considered one of the main mechanisms of state support for the agrarian sector and ensuring food security.
The official pointed out that the new State Program for the development of the agricultural sector for the upcoming period also serves as a roadmap for increasing production, efficient resource use, expanding processing and export opportunities, building value chains, and advancing fisheries and aquaculture to a new stage of development.
