Minister: Azerbaijan to expand investments in Montenegro's tourism sector

One of Montenegro's most beautiful resorts was built with Azerbaijan's participation, and the total investment has reached $1 billion, with potential for expansion, Montenegrin Tourism Minister Simonida Kordić said during the first Azerbaijan International Investment Forum (AIIF 2025), Report informs.

"Tourism is Montenegro's largest industry. It contributes 30% to our GDP. That means a third of our entire economic activity can be attributed to tourism. This makes it a fundamental industry, a strategic sector that clearly impacts all other aspects of economic, social, and political life. It directly impacts revenues for the social security system, healthcare, education, and so on. This, of course, makes it extremely important for us to pay special attention to this sector, which means creating the most favorable investment environment possible," the minister stated.

According to her, more than 120 different countries are currently investing in Montenegro.
