Global GDP to suffer $4 trillion loss due to tourism

By the end of this year, global gross domestic product (GDP) is estimated to suffer more than $ 4 trillion because of tourism, said document of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).
According to the paper, 60% of the estimated losses in global GDP will fall on developing countries. In addition, the poorest countries in Asia, Africa, and Central America, which have a high share of tourism revenues in GDP, will be hit the hardest during this period.
The coronavirus causes the biggest crisis in the history of the global tourism industry.
