Baku ranks 340th globally for cost of living

In the first half of 2025, Baku ranked 340th in the global cost of living index, according to data from Numbeo, one of the world"s largest databases, Report informs.

A lower position in the ranking indicates that the city offers more affordable living conditions.

For comparison, Yerevan ranked 257th, Istanbul 258th, Moscow 230th, and Tbilisi 316th.

The "Cost of Living Index" is based on the prices of groceries, restaurant services, transportation, and utilities. However, the index does not include housing-related expenses such as rent or mortgage payments.

Despite this, rental prices in Baku during the first half of 2025 remained more affordable than in neighboring capitals.

In central Baku, the average monthly rent for a one-bedroom apartment was $478, while a three-bedroom apartment averaged $964.

By comparison, in Yerevan, these figures were $748 and $1,256, respectively. In Tbilisi, they reached $713 and $1,376.
