Azerbaijan named top investor in Montenegro's tourism sector

Azerbaijan is one of the largest investors in Montenegro's tourism industry, Montenegro's Minister of Tourism Simonida Kordic told Report.

Kordic emphasized the strength of both political and business ties between Azerbaijan and Montenegro:

"One of the biggest investments in Montenegrin tourism comes from Azerbaijan. The total value of this investment has reached $1 billion. We believe this cooperation will continue to grow, and we invite more Azerbaijani investors to join new, efficient projects in Montenegro."

She noted that Montenegro's tourism sector currently attracts investment from over 120 countries and has shown strong results.

The minister also highlighted a significant increase in the number of Azerbaijani tourists:

"From January to August this year, the number of Azerbaijani visitors to Montenegro rose by 77% compared to the same period last year. Our goal is to provide high-quality service and a memorable experience that encourages visitors to return. I invite all Azerbaijanis to visit our country."

Kordic added that an official tourism cooperation agreement is already in place between the two countries, facilitating mutual investment and tourism exchange.

Among Azerbaijani projects in Montenegro, the minister singled out the Porto Novi resort complex:

"This is the largest Azerbaijani investment in our country. The complex features Europe's only One&Only hotel. With its top-tier services and unique leisure offerings, this resort is a flagship of Montenegro's tourism strategy."

She concluded by saying Azerbaijani investment is one of the best examples of high standards and service quality in Montenegro's tourism sector.
