Abdullah Al-Suwairi: Master plans for Azerbaijani cities will boost investment and tourism

Global tourism provides employment opportunities for nearly 357 million people, Abdullah Al-Suwairi, Director of New Murabba Development, said during the 1st Azerbaijan International Investment Forum (AIIF 2025) in Baku.

Report quotes him as saying tourism is one of the leading and strategic sectors of the global economy:

"It not only creates jobs but also contributes significantly to the sustainable development of cities and regions."

Al-Suwairi emphasized that the development of master plans lays the foundation for sustainable urban growth, facilitates investor attraction, and supports the creation of tourism infrastructure:

"Developing master plans for cities in Azerbaijan is particularly important in this regard. This approach will stimulate the development of not only the regions but also the outskirts of Baku."

He pointed out that the presence of large, high-quality hotels, modern leisure centers, and entertainment zones are key factors for attracting tourists:

"It"s important for every country to have a strong tourism brand."

He added that modern urban planning should aim to attract high-quality human capital-talented professionals and creative youth:

"For example, the new urban centers created for Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) represent a modern environment for both living and working."
