Zeynep Altinsoy on Haber Global: Azerbaijan never ignored events in Gaza

Azerbaijan has raised the issue of the events in the Gaza Strip at every opportunity, despite its close cooperation with Israel, Zeynep Deniz Altinsoy, a professor at Bilecik University, said on the air of the Turkish TV channel Haber Global, according to Report.

"Azerbaijan has established good economic and trade cooperation with Israel. Despite this, Azerbaijan has never been silent about the events in Gaza. Baku's position coincides with the position of its brotherly Türkiye," the professor said, commenting on the statement of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry regarding Israel's strikes on the capital of Qatar.  

The professor noted that Azerbaijan, as a country that survived the Khojaly genocide, understands its tragic side very well and expresses this at the diplomatic level.  

According to her, the European Union and the United States have only now "woke up" and began to comment on the events in Gaza, while Azerbaijan has expressed its position from the very beginning.
