Yasar Guler: Türkiye strengthens border security with Iran

Türkiye has tightened security measures along its border with Iran in response to recent developments in the neighboring country, National Defense Minister Yasar Guler said during a meeting at a military base located on the Iranian border in Türkiye's Van Province, Report informs, citing the Turkish National Defense Ministry.

"Let there be no doubt — we will continue to ensure the security of our borders at the highest level, responding to any potential incidents," the minister said.

He added that Turkish authorities will continue to enhance the country's defense capabilities: "Our national fighter jet KAAN and the air defense system 'Steel Dome', which will integrate medium- and long-range missiles developed with domestic technologies, will play an important role in this effort," Guler stressed.

He also noted that, given the evolving regional situation, Türkiye will maintain a well-calculated defense and security policy and take all necessary measures accordingly.
