Türkiye detains 89 irregular migrants in Izmir

A total of 89 irregular migrants have been detained during operations in the Seferihisar and Menderes districts of Izmir, Türkiye, Report informs, citing the country's Coast Guard Command.
In Seferihisar, coast guard and gendarmerie units apprehended 61 migrants, including children. Two suspects were also arrested on charges of human smuggling.
In Menderes, coast guard officers intercepted a boat carrying 28 migrants, who were brought ashore.
Following investigations, the migrants were handed over to the Provincial Migration Directorate by the gendarmerie.
