Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu and United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken discussed the latest developments in Afghanistan in a phone call, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said early Wednesday.
Report informs, citing Daily Sabah, that Cavusoglu and Blinken also discussed the "continuing cooperation" in Afghanistan and efforts "to ensure the safe and orderly evacuation of our citizens, allies and partners," US State Department spokesperson Ned Price said in a statement.
All the same, Blinken wrote on Twitter that he spoke with Turkish Foreign Minister Cavusoglu.
"Turkey is an important NATO Ally and an invaluable partner in the region," he said.
