Tokayev: Ankara is Astana's key strategic partner

Ankara is a key strategic partner for Astana, Kazakh President Kassym‑Jomart Tokayev stated at a press conference following talks with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Report informs via the President's Office - Akorda.
According to Tokayev, the two countries agreed to strengthen political, trade‑economic, and cultural‑humanitarian ties.
He added that following the talks, several intergovernmental documents were signed, including the Declaration on Eternal Friendship and Enhanced Strategic Partnership, aimed at elevating bilateral cooperation to a new level.
Kazakh leader noted that Kazakhstan and Türkiye reached an agreement on the future development of the Middle Corridor and the implementation of joint projects in this area.
Tokayev further emphasized that Türkiye is among Kazakhstan's largest investment partners, with Turkish entrepreneurs having invested about $6 billion in Kazakhstan's economy, while Kazakhstan's investments in Türkiye amount to approximately $2.5 billion.
He also pointed out that nearly 4,000 Turkish companies operate in Kazakhstan, and Türkiye ranks among the country's top five trade partners. The president underscored that bilateral trade volume has grown by 8.8%, surpassing $5 billion.
Tokayev stressed that his country is ready to support Turkish investors and invited Turkish companies to participate in large‑scale, long‑term strategic projects.
