Russia's Federal Medical-Biological Agency has received a patent for the domestic medicine Leitragin, Report says, citing RIA Novosti.
The drug can prevent or alleviate coronavirus complications and is the first and only delta-opioid receptor in practical medicine in the world.
Scientists from the Agency's Scientific Center for Biomedical Technologies have found that the drug "Dalargin" has a powerful effect on tissue healing and regeneration.
Besides, substances in this class are actively involved in the organization of the immune response. It can also prevent or mitigate the "cytokine storm" - the mass release of anti-inflammatory drugs leading to severe respiratory and general systemic disorders in COVID-19 patients.
