Pashinyan: 'At the Washington meeting, we fulfilled the Armenian people's dream of peace'

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has stated that peace was established during the trilateral meeting held in Washington on August 8, fulfilling what he described as the Armenian people's aspiration for peace.

According to Report, the statement was published on the Prime Minister"s social media account in commemoration of Armenia's Independence Day.

Pashinyan noted that for many years, this national dream remained out of reach due to blockade, war, economic decline, and emigration.

"With the peace established on August 8, 2025, this dream has once again filled the Republic of Armenia. It is now our duty to first cherish it, and then bring it fully to life," he wrote.

On August 8 in Washington, the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan signed a joint declaration in the presence of the US President. The seven-point agreement includes the launch of the Zangazur Corridor - also referred to as the "Trump Route" - as part of a broader effort to reopen regional transportation and communication links.

In addition, the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan initialed an agreement on the establishment of peace and formal interstate relations.
