Muhammet Alper Hayali: OTS countries are pursuing multidimensional integration

The Turkic world is currently carrying out a multidimensional process of integration aimed at strengthening cooperation, said Muhammet Alper Hayali, Deputy Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TÜRKPA), Report informs.

Hayali made the remarks at the 2nd Solidarity Forum of NGOs of OTS member countries.

"Today, the Turkic world is no longer only a cultural union, but is experiencing a multidimensional integration process strengthening political, economic, academic, and social cooperation," he said.

He stressed that parliamentary structures play an especially important role in strengthening this cooperation.

"In this context, TÜRKPA contributes significantly to shaping a common political vision in the Turkic world, exchanging legislative experience, and strengthening institutional dialogue among brotherly countries," he added.

Hayali also referred to remarks attributed to former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, who suggested that a unified Turkic world would emerge after the collapse of the Soviet Union, noting that this idea was long seen only as a theoretical prediction.

"However, today the Turkic states demonstrate a completely different reality through shared diplomacy, economic cooperation, defense potential, and institutional development," he said.

Hayali noted that the OTS member countries consistently advocate for peace while possessing sufficient strength and potential to protect their own interests. At the same time, he emphasized the important role of non-governmental organizations in this process.
