Kazakh president replaces head of Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has appointed Asset Irgaliev as new head of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms, Report informs citing Interfax.
Irgaliev, 35, previously headed the Ministry of National Economy.
Kairat Kelimbetov, who headed the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms until today, has been removed from office by the decree of the head of state.
On January 5, Tokayev signed a decree dismissing Maken Isabekov from the post of deputy head of the state security service - head of the presidential security service.
Earlier, Tokayev called the ongoing protests in Kazakhstan a difficult page in the history of the state and said that he would do everything possible to protect the interests of the country’s citizens.
