Japan's new sanctions against Russia to take effect next week

A new package of Japanese sanctions, expanding the list of goods prohibited for import into Russia, will come into force on August 9, the country’s Economy Ministry said, Report informs.
The new restrictions will cover 758 new items. In particular, these are cars with an engine capacity of more than 1.9 liters, building materials, plastic products, textiles, locomotives, rail cars, etc. For the first time, the list was replenished with such types of goods as used clothes, drawings and diagrams, or all types of waste paper.
Since Japan began to impose sanctions, it has announced a total freeze on the assets of 987 people from Russia, including 304 people from the "new regions" and Crimea, 129 organizations, 12 banks, imposed an export ban on 437 organizations, companies and institutions associated with the defense industry.
