Georgia's president to join regional summit in Astana

President of Georgia Mikheil Kavelashvili will attend the Regional Ecological Summit in Astana on April 22, Report informs.

Kavelashvili is expected to address the plenary session of the summit, which will held in partnership with the United Nations and will focus on climate change challenges and the need for coordinated efforts.

Leaders from several countries are due to attend, including the presidents of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Mongolia and Armenia, as well as Azerbaijan's Prime Minister Ali Asadov.

The forum will also pay particular attention to connectivity issues for landlocked countries.

Kavelashvili has travelled to Kazakhstan with an official delegation that includes Davit Songulashvili, Ketevan Kvinikadze and Alexander Khvtisiashvili.
