Georgia, Armenia discuss strategic importance of Middle Corridor

Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Shalva Papuashvili met with Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan in Tbilisi, according to the Georgian Parliament's press service, Report informs.

Papuashvili underscored that achieving peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan is of great importance for the future of the region.

He noted that close cooperation among the three South Caucasus countries – Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan – could make the region more attractive and create new economic opportunities, while political stability would serve as the foundation for economic development.

The sides also touched upon the importance of expanding trilateral cooperation formats and discussed Georgia's and Armenia's relations with the European Union. In this context, the strategic importance of the Middle Corridor for the region was particularly highlighted.
