Georgia abolishes self-isolation for foreigners

The Georgian government has decided to eliminate the mandatory self-isolation regime for strangers visiting the country from February 1.

Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Turnava said that this rule would first apply to citizens and residents of the European Union, Israel, Switzerland, the United States, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Bahrain.

Foreign citizens visiting Georgia will have to submit a certificate of a negative PCR test taken in the last 72 hours at the border, and they will retake the test in three days. Foreigners who have been fully vaccinated against the coronavirus will not be required to provide this document.
