Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan embarks on official visit to Iran

At the invitation of the Iranian side, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu arrived in Iran on an official visit, Report informs, citing the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Kazakhstan.
The Kazakh Foreign Minister was received by the President of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian.
"The parties discussed current issues of Kazakh-Iranian interaction, confirming their focus on comprehensive strengthening of bilateral relations," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicated.
Special attention during the conversation was paid to issues of increasing trade and economic cooperation. The parties noted a 50 percent growth in bilateral trade turnover at the end of 2024 and confirmed mutual interest in its further increase. Prospects for joint work in the transport and logistics sphere were also discussed, including the use of the transit potential of the Caspian Sea and the development of the International Transport Corridor North - South.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan noted that the sides also exchanged views on regional and global agenda issues, confirming their commitment to further close cooperation within multilateral structures.
"At the end of the meeting, the Iranian leader gave a high assessment of the level of Kazakh-Iranian relations and expressed readiness for their further meaningful development. He also conveyed best wishes to the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev," the ministry said.
