European Union foreign ministers have approved the creation of a new civilian mission to support Yerevan in countering hybrid threats, including foreign interference in elections, cyberattacks and illegal political financing, Report informs, citing Armenian media.
The mission is set to begin operations in the coming months. Its mandate is planned for two years, and its official name will be the European Union Partnership Mission in the Republic of Armenia (EUPM Armenia).
Armenia requested the renewal of the mission in December last year. Following discussions in Brussels and Yerevan, EU ambassadors unanimously approved the decision last week.
