Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said the country might develop a new constitution, Report informs, referring to TASS.
He was speaking at a press conference in Ankara following a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
"Perhaps the time has come to discuss the new constitution of Turkey. We can start this in the coming period," Erdogan said.
He added that "this process should be implemented transparently."
"The final text should be presented at the discretion of the nation," Erdogan said.
Turkey's current constitution has already been amended several times. Recent amendments have resulted in the change of Turkey's constitutional system from republican to presidential.
