Armenian PM endorses Aram Asatryan for Catholicos, opposing Karekin II

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has announced his support for Aram Asatryan, priest of the Ovannavank Monastery, as a candidate in the upcoming election for Catholicos of All Armenians, unnamed sources said, Report informs via Armenian media outlets.
Asatryan is reportedly the only cleric openly backing the government and criticizing the current Catholicos, Karekin II, in connection with the matter.
