Armenian National Congress rules out alliance with former presidents' parties

The Armenian National Congress (ANC), led by former president Levon Ter-Petrosyan, has no intention of forming a political alliance with the parties of former presidents Robert Kocharyan and Serzh Sargsyan, Report informs, citing Armenian media.

ANC Deputy Chairman Levon Zurabyan made the announcement during parliamentary hearings on a potential impeachment of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

Zurabyan stated the ANC is not prepared to unite with the "Armenia" and "I Have Honor" blocs, reiterating the party's position during discussions related to the declaration on "National Crisis and Governance Failure."

Earlier, the former ruling Republican Party of Armenia-represented in parliament by the "I Have Honor" faction-announced plans to initiate a vote of no confidence against Pashinyan, nominating Masis Mayor Davit Hambardzumyan as a potential candidate.

To launch impeachment proceedings, signatures from 36 MPs are required. A successful vote demands at least 54 votes out of 107 in parliament.
