Ambassador: US, Turkey work together in South Caucasus

The United States and Turkey work together in the South Caucasus and North Africa, US Ambassador to Turkey Jeffrey Flake said, Report informs, citing Anadolu.
The diplomat also touched upon the discussions on the normalization of Turkish-Armenian relations. He said that the steps taken to normalize Ankara-Yerevan relations are a great event:
"We are pleased with the first meeting of the special envoys in Russia and the second in Vienna. Direct flights between Istanbul and Yerevan are also an important signal. Turkey is an essential political 'player' in the world and ally in preventing Russia's aggression in the region."
