Azerbaijan is playing a constructive role in advancing peace in the South Caucasus, said Farid Shafiyev, Chairman of the Center of Analysis of International Relations (AIR Center), during the think tank conference of the Organization of Turkic States held in Baku, Report informs.

Shafiyev highlighted ongoing progress in the peace treaty negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, expressing hope that a final agreement could be signed by 2026 or 2027.

He also emphasized the strategic importance of the Zangazur Corridor, describing it as a beneficial project for both the region and Armenia. "Diplomatic talks and normalization efforts between Azerbaijan and Armenia have already led to certain agreements," he noted.

According to Shafiyev, the implementation of the Zangazur Corridor would enhance transport and energy cooperation among Turkic states. He stressed that the support of Turkic countries plays a vital role in strengthening the Middle Corridor, ensuring regional security, and deepening solidarity among Turkic nations.
