5th president of Armenia assumes office

The fifth President of Armenia, Vahagn Khachaturyan, took the oath and assumed office during a special meeting of the National Assembly on March 13, Report informs.
“Assuming the office of the President of the Republic, I swear: to be faithful to the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia, in the exercise of my powers to be impartial, to be guided only by the state and national interests and to put all my efforts into strengthening national unity,” Khachaturyan said, placing his hand on the Armenian constitution and Vehamor Avetaran, the Gospel of the 7th century.
