Speaker of Parliament: Bishkek supports Washington agreements between Azerbaijan, Armenia

Kyrgyzstan supports the agreements reached by Azerbaijan and Armenia on August 8 in Washington regarding the establishment of peace and interstate relations, Speaker of the Zhogorku Kenesh (parliament) of Kyrgyzstan Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu said during talks with his Armenian counterpart Alen Simonyan in Bishkek, Report informs.

"I am deeply convinced that this historic event will not only strengthen the friendship between the two states, but will also contribute to stability and development in the South Caucasus and the region as a whole," the press service of the Zhogorku Kenesh quotes him as saying.

He also noted that Kyrgyzstan is interested in developing cooperation and strengthening inter-parliamentary ties with Armenia.

Trade and economic cooperation was also discussed at the meeting, and the Kyrgyz side expressed interest in exporting its products to the Armenian market.

Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu invited athletes from Armenia to the VI World Nomad Games, which will be held in Kyrgyzstan next year.

Alen Simonyan, in turn, expressed interest in developing partnerships by resolving trade, economic and infrastructure issues.
