Ukraine and Canada have agreed to launch joint production of drones for the Ukrainian military. The facility will be established on the territory of Canada, according to Ukraine's Ministry of Defense, Report informs via RBC-Ukraine.
The ministry said the agreement was signed by representatives of the defense ministries of both countries. As part of the deal, a new enterprise will be created, and the drones produced will be supplied specifically to Ukraine's Defense Forces.
"Within the framework of the agreement, a new joint venture Airlogix-Sentinel is being established between the Ukrainian defense tech company Airlogix and the Canadian unmanned systems manufacturer Sentinel Research and Development," the statement said.
As noted, the project will be implemented with the support of the governments of Ukraine and Canada. It will speed up the delivery of reconnaissance equipment for Ukrainian defenders and support operational planning.
At the same time, the project is beneficial not only for Ukraine but also for Canada. Its implementation includes the expansion of Canadian production capacities in critical technologies, as well as access to "effective solutions of modern warfare".
"Ukraine and Canada will continue working on joint solutions that meet the security interests of both states within a win-win partnership and Ukraine's defense strategy," the ministry added.
On August 24, 2025, Ukraine and Canada officially launched an action plan to implement their security cooperation agreement.
The plan covers military training, development of defense capabilities, intelligence sharing, cybersecurity, as well as counterterrorism and hybrid threat response.
