Trump says Putin was surprised by resolution of Armenia–Azerbaijan conflict

US President Donald Trump has said that Russian President Vladimir Putin was surprised by his ability to bring an end to the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Report informs with reference to the White House's Youtube channel.

Trump said Putin called him and said he couldn"t believe that the US leader managed to resolve this (conflict).

In August this year, following a meeting in Washington between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan with Trump, a declaration was agreed on initialling of a peace text by the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as on interstate relations between the two countries.

In addition, Armenia agreed to work with Washington and third parties to organise the "Trump Route for international peace and prosperity."
