Polish President Karol Nawrocki says he has been invited by his US counterpart Donald Trump to attend the G20 summit in Miami next year, Report informs referring to TPV World.
The Polish head of state, a longstanding admirer of Trump's MAGA movement, met the US leader in the White House on his first official visit abroad as president.
In a press conference after the talks, Nawrocki told journalists that he had been given an invite to the 2026 G20 summit, set to be hosted by the United States, which will then hold the rotating presidency of the elite group of developed economies.
Earlier this week, Radosław Sikorski, Poland's foreign minister, said he was eyeing G20 membership in light of new economic data that shows that the country's GDP now exceeds one trillion dollars.
However, Trump's invite does not mean Poland is about to join the G20 club, which is a more complicated process. Spain, for example, is regularly asked to attend summits, despite not being a member. Many other nations have also attended on a guest basis.
