The number of infections with the omicron strain in Japan has risen to 153, Report informs citing RIA Novosti.
On December 22 alone, 68 cases were detected at quarantine points at airports. On December 21, it was reported that the total number of infections with this strain in the country since the discovery of the omicron strain is 85.
On December 22, it also became known that for the first time in Japan, infection was recorded among people who didn’t travel abroad and had no contact with those leaving. The first three such cases are in a family of three in Osaka Prefecture.
