Israel has been planning an operation to eliminate senior members of the Hamas armed group at a meeting in Qatar for several weeks, Report informs referring to the Israeli newspaper Maariv, citing a source in the Israeli Air Force.
The source notes that the special operation was prepared by the Shin Bet General Security Service. The operation involved 10 aircraft, which dropped 10 shells weighing a ton each in Doha within seconds. The shells reached their targets with maximum accuracy. The Shin Bet is still waiting for the final results of the attack on Qatar, but no one in the building could have survived, the source notes.
"The entire Hamas political leadership was identified as a target for elimination due to their role in planning and promoting the October 7 massacre. Several weeks ago, the real stage of preparation for the elimination of the Hamas leadership began. The Shin Bet and military intelligence received information that the entire leadership of the organization was meeting in Qatar. The Israeli political leadership approved the operation. It was decided that the air force would carry out the attack. The work between the Shin Bet and the air force lasted for a short period," the source said.
It is noted that the pilots were on standby for several hours before receiving the green light.
The Shin Bet had to confirm that the meeting was indeed taking place in that building and that the entire top leadership of the organization was arriving for the meeting. The green light for takeoff was received just a few hours before the meeting began.
"The prime minister, the defense minister, the acting head of the Shin Bet, the chief of staff, the air force commander and the head of military intelligence gathered in a special Shin Bet operations room. The green light for the attack came from the acting head of the Shin Bet, who coordinated it with the prime minister and defense minister minutes before the attack. The air force commander gave the final go-ahead to the air force command center. The bombs hit the wing of the building where all the senior Hamas officials were gathered, without causing collateral damage. Even before a black cloud of smoke covered the Doha skyline, the air force planes were already on their way back," the article says.
