Kazakhstan, China sign $15B agreements

Kazakhstan and China signed commercial agreements worth $15 billion, Report informs referring to Akorda (Kazakh presidential office).

More than a hundred Kazakh and Chinese companies signed over 70 commercial agreements documents following the meeting of the Business Council. The agreements cover such areas as: energy, digitalization, construction, metallurgy, telecommunications, transport and logistics.

"This is a very good indicator. I am sure that it will only grow. More than 6,000 enterprises with Chinese capital are successfully operating in Kazakhstan, including such powerful corporations by world standards as CNPC, CITIC, SINOPEC, HUAWEI. Not only large, but also medium-sized businesses are widely represented," said President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, speaking at the meeting of the council.

Tokayev also stressed that China has already invested $27 billion in the Kazakh economy.

He also called for strengthening Kazakh-Chinese business contacts in the financial sector.
