The Iraqi Foreign Ministry has objected to US President Donald Trump's pardon of Blackwater security guards who killed Iraqi civilians.
"We urge the US government to reconsider its decision," the Iraqi Foreign Ministry said.
In September 2007, 17 people were killed when security guards of the company accompanying a convoy of the US embassy opened fire on passers-by in Baghdad. The court sentenced one of them to life imprisonment and three to 30 years in prison.
US President Donald Trump signed a decree pardoning 20 people on December 23 and 26 on December 24.
